Worksite wellness for large groups through WellSpark Health

Our new WellSpark Health digital platform for employee wellness programs is live! Many large-group members are already enjoying the benefits of WellSpark’s:

Proprietary health assessment that analyzes factors including lifestyle, possible indicators of behavioral health, and a prediabetes risk evaluation
Challenges and rewards in employee wellness programs
Customized health content in easy-to-digest video format
Ability to set goals or accept challenges and track progress by syncing with a variety of popular health trackers
And more

Do you have customers who are interested in starting an employee wellness program – or, perhaps, in rekindling an existing program? Find out how WellSpark Health can help you make that happen.

Contact your sales representative or email info@wellsparkhealth.com for more information.

Medicare Advantage plans

Welcome kits available online

The 2020 Medicare member welcome kits are now available online. Visit connecticare.com/medicare and choose “Plan documents” to view the welcome kits and other important plan documents. For more information on what is included in the welcome kits, please refer to the story in last month’s SalesCall.

New member ID cards and numbers

All ConnectiCare Medicare Advantage members received a new member ID card after they enrolled in a 2020 plan or renewed their plan for 2020. Please remind renewing members that their 2020 member ID number is completely different than last year’s and now begins with “K.” They should destroy any old ConnectiCare cards to avoid confusion.

Also, Medicare Advantage members will only have one ID card for the doctor, pharmacy, or dentist (if their plan includes dental coverage or they purchased the optional supplemental benefit from us). We are not mailing separate dental ID cards.

New telemedicine benefit now available

Many ConnectiCare Medicare Advantage members now have telemedicine benefits through Teladoc ®. We explain telemedicine in greater detail in the 2020 winter edition of Housecall, our printed newsletter (see below for more information), and in our recent blog post.

Telemedicine is not available to Medicare Advantage members in group plans or with a Choice Dual (HMO D-SNP) plan. However, D-SNP members have access to Nurseline for confidential, non-emergency health and medical questions. These members can speak to a registered nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 1-877-489-0963 (TTY: 711).

2020 updates for your Medicare Advantage clients

Transportation services – Members with Choice Dual (HMO D-SNP) plans can schedule up to 24 one-way trips to approved locations, including:

Doctor’s and dentist’s offices
Urgent care
Hospital discharge
Pharmacies
Physical, occupational, or speech therapy

Rides must be approved at least two days before the requested date. Members can call Coordinated Transportation Solutions at 1-833-995-2228 (TTY: 711) or member services at 1-800-224-2273 (TTY: 711). More information is available in their plan documents.

Hearing benefits – We previously allowed members with Passage Plan 1 (HMO) and Choice Dual (HMO D-SNP) plans to go anywhere for hearing aids and submit a reimbursement form up to the benefit limit. Beginning in 2020, members must go through NationsHearing. This national vendor provides services to our members and submits claims directly to ConnectiCare up to the benefit limit. No reimbursement form is needed. NationsHearing then bills the member for any additional costs. ConnectiCare members can call NationsHearing directly at 1-877-230-1549.

Vision benefits – For members with Passage Plan 1 (HMO), we will no longer require a reimbursement form. Choice Plan 3 (HMO), Flex Plan 3 (HMO-POS) and Choice Dual (HMO D-SNP) also have vision benefits with EyeMed. EyeMed providers will submit claims directly to EyeMed up to the benefit limit and bill the member for any additional costs. Please refer to the article on EyeMed from the October issue of SalesCall for more on the 2020 vision benefits for Medicare Advantage members.

Dental benefits – Passage Plan 1 (HMO), Choice Plan 2 (HMO), Choice Plan 3 (HMO), and Flex Plan 3 (HMO-POS) include preventive dental benefits. Other plans do not include dental benefits. Members can upgrade their dental coverage at any time by calling member services at 1-800-224-2273 (TTY: 711).

As a reminder, we shared options for premium payments and details of the expanded provider network in past issues of SalesCall. The printed issue of Housecall (see next story) covers many of these topics.

Housecall winter edition in mailboxes

The 2020 winter edition of Housecall was mailed to the homes of all Medicare Advantage members (except Choice Dual (HMO D-SNP) members) earlier this month. Topics include: 2020 plan updates, new telemedicine benefit from Teladoc, enhanced member services with Medicare Connect Concierge, availability of supplemental dental plans, identifying and treating the flu versus a cold, the importance of preventive care, healthy cooking tips, and more.
