Individual open enrollment extended to Jan. 15
The annual open enrollment deadline has been extended to Jan. 15, 2020 for coverage effective Feb. 1, 2020. The extension of open enrollment applies to individual ConnectiCare plans offered on the exchange through Access Health CT and to our off exchange SOLO plans. Brokers will be compensated for Feb. 1, 2020 new members as well as their Jan. 1, 2020 new and renewing members.
SOLO members who renewed their coverage for 2020 are eligible to make a plan change by Jan. 15 but must pay their January premium bill first. Please note that online SOLO Renewal system is closed. During this extension, members must be enrolled using a paper application.

Enrollment forms for commercials groups
Please review all commercial group member forms carefully before submitting. Incomplete forms or missing information can delay the enrollment process for you and your clients. For example, the member enrollment form must have complete employer information, including the employer’s name and group number, the employee’s hire date, the member’s effective date, and the plan chosen by the member.
Email paper enrollment forms to enrollfax@connecticare.com. Find all forms on the broker portal. Don’t want to deal with paper? You can easily add or term members through the broker portal. Please contact your sales representative with any questions.

January 2020 premium bills will be in the mail this week. All your renewing and new Medicare Advantage clients will have the following options if they want to pay it as soon as they get their bills:
o |
Mail the invoice coupon and their check (with their new member ID in the memo line) to the address listed on the invoice.
|
o |
Bring the invoice with a check or cash payment to any People’s United Bank branch.
|
o |
Go to connecticare.com/medicare/waystopay and select “Make a one-time payment as a guest for your 2020 plan.”
|
|
• |
In the fourth week of this month, renewing clients can begin to set up new automatic payments for their 2020 Medicare Advantage plan by signing into our Medicare member website.
|
• |
Medicare enrollees who are new to ConnectiCare can set up recurring payments or sign into the ConnectiCare website after Jan. 1, 2020.
|
As we mentioned in last month’s SalesCall, we will be reaching out to renewing members who have recurring payments set up through our website or Direct Debit to let them know what they can do for their 2020 Medicare Advantage plans. The outreach will include letters, emails, and phone.

ConnectiCare in the community
Our President, Eric Galvin, spent Giving Tuesday at State House Square to support United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut's ALICE Fund. ALICE proceeds benefit our own neighbors and friends who struggle to pay for necessities like food, heat, clothing, and rent.
|
ConnectiCare joined MetroHartford Alliance HYPE (Hartford Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs) as a sponsor for the group’s annual Tons of Toys event. The event received a record-breaking 2,500 toys for the YMCA of Greater Hartford.
|
We’re honored that the American Heart Association has given ConnectiCare Gold Level recognition for its 2019 Workplace Health Achievement Index that evaluates how well companies build a culture of health in the workplace.
